# Charles Amyx

> Senior frontend engineer in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Builds accessible, fast websites and web apps for University of Michigan units, and gives content owners a site they can run themselves.

Works at Michigan Creative (University of Michigan) as Senior Engineer, Front-end (June 2025–present). 15+ years across educational and corporate work. University of Michigan alumnus. This file is a map, not a scrape: follow the case studies for how he builds, and the résumé for employment history, dates, and skills. Pages are HTML; there are no companion `.md` versions.

Practice, checked in CI rather than once at the end: WCAG 2.1 AA as the minimum, with 2.2 testing on recent builds; static sites built with 11ty or Astro and served from Cloudflare, with Core Web Vitals budgets set at the start of a project; and small typed servers where a project needs one, such as keeping an LLM key out of the browser or tracking progress through a course. Currently building an LMS for UM’s Chronic Pain & Fatigue Research Center.
